The commencement of the installation of the green marine buoy at the entrance of the navigational channel of Tripoli Seaport marks a significant milestone. This operation is a result of the collaborative efforts between the Libyan Ports Company, acting as the port operator, and the Ports and the Libyan Maritime Authority.
The installation process is being executed by experienced specialists from Japan, utilizing the floating crane (Derna) owned by the company and operational at Tripoli Seaport. The marine units, divers, and technicians from the company’s Tripoli port branch are actively involved in this endeavor. The buoy has been strategically positioned at the designated location based on internationally recognized coordinates.
Looking ahead, the completion of the supply and installation of the two external markers at the port’s entrance channel is anticipated in the upcoming months, facilitated by a specialized company in this field. This maritime marker serves as a vital aid to navigation, playing a crucial role in upholding the safety standards and requirements for the marine environment as stipulated by the International Maritime Organization.
